1. I can set it up as early as I'd like, without fear that the needles will drop.
2. I utterly detest stringing lights on a tree. A prelit Christmas tree is the answer to my prayers!
3. My hubby's father was a firefighter, and a real tree was a big no-no in their home for safety reasons.
Without further ado, I present to you, our family's Christmas Tree:
It is not a themed tree, nor does it have matching colours, or coordinating ornaments. It's a good ole fashioned traditional tree, with ornaments gathered over the years. While growing up, my mother would buy me ornaments each year, and throughout my college years, they would hang on my puny 1 foot high tree. I eventually gathered enough ornaments for a full size tree.
Each year I add to my tree, such as this new Tree Topper.

While I do sew and quilt, I bought this tree skirt at a craft fair for far less money than I could have even made it for.

A night time view. Don't you just love sitting by the tree at night?

Here are a few of my favorite ornaments. I have a thing for Santa's!
I have hundreds of these glass icicles in the tree. They reflect the light so beautifully.
I love these leaves. Many of my ornaments, such as the leaves, I buy at after Christmas sales.

Andrea, your tree is absolutely GORGEOUS!! I love it. I love the lights reflecting in the windows. So pretty.
Your Christmas tree is so beautifully decorated!I also have ornaments collected over the years, just as my own mother did. I especially adore the ones made by my children when they were little (uh, a LONGGGG time ago.) :) Sure brings back memories!
I love the fact your tree is not "themed." They are the best as each ornament was collected over time. Very pretty!
Gorgeous! Love the dripping beads and classic ornaments. Beautiful all lit up ... this must be your favorite room at night! *Becca*
Wow! I can't believe these are photos of your home. I thought that first photo was something out of a magazine!! Really! I would be honored to have you add it to my blog party

Oh how pretty. Your tree is absolutely gorgeous. I love it. Your living room is so pretty. Love the tree topper too, beautiful. Hugs, Marty
Love it!
It's fabulous! I, too, have an old-fashioned Christmas tree, loaded with history and memories. And, yes, sitting by the tree in the evenings in one of my favorite things to do.
Stopping by from BNOP.
Andrea, your tree is utterly gorgeous! It totally looks like a tree out of magazine and I love your new topper- really really beautiful job! I'm thinking of going crazy and getting a white tree this year but seeing your beauty is making me pause- I usually do a colour theme with different balls etc. every year but we always have our collection of time collected ornaments on the tree too- I can't imagine a tree without these pieces so filled with memories. xo
What a gorgeous tree! All those wonderful icicle ornaments really give your tree a great big wow factor!
I have a fake tree, like you, I prefer the ease of set up!Actually,we have two fake trees. One of them I do as a 'theme' tree and the other is more 'traditional'.
Hi Andrea! Your tree is so lovely! This is the kind of tree I love - filled with everything! Your tree skirt is so cute!!
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
This is a beautiful tree...I too like the fake trees these days...you can re-use them for years and they don't drop messy needles! I also like them because they hold just about any sized ornament and you can manipulate the branches to work just the way you want! Beautiful job!
Absolutely beautiful!!
Andrea, Beautiful tree. Love that you shared several of your awesome ornaments. I too buy much of my deco at after Christmas sales.
I prefer artificial trees because I am allergic to the real ones. Do you ever squint your eyes at night and look at the tree. I have been doing this since childhood. It is awesome. . I am your newest follower. Please visit me and consider following me as well. Merry Christmas, Ginger
My goodness...that is one BEAUTIFUL tree! AMAZING, well done! XO ~Liz
Andrea, that is GORGEOUS!!! I love it! Looks like the room was made just for the tree!
Your tree is really beautiful. I love that it is not matchy but a real family tree. I love the glow it adds to your room!

Your tree is gorgeous! And there really is nothing like sitting by the tree at night.
Your tree is so pretty! I've never ever had a real tree. Growing up my parents never had a real one because of the fire hazard & now I like being able to put it up early. I always do a "theme" tree.
Oh, I just love this! Andrea, it looks so gorgeous and I see we are both "bead" girls and now I'm wanting to run out and buy a million icicles so I can copy you! I just love how they look dripping down the tree and I'm definitely going to be hitting up the after Christmas sales to get some. It is all just beautiful and one of my favorites in blogland for sure! :-)
Vanessa
We always do fake--I am allergic to trees. I love that angel orny!
I am a big fan of your blog! Hope you can stop over to visit me at Free 2 Be Frugal sometime.
Andrea, I just found your blog at BNOTP; I'll be following... You have such a beautiful space for a Christmas tree -- and your tree is lovely! I especially love the addition of the crystal icicles. That's one of my favorite "tricks" with Christmas trees because they let the light bounce around so beautifully! I put up several faux trees every year, but one is always a traditional tree with all of our family's collected ornaments. It's definitely a favorite. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Your tree turned out gorgeous!! We used to do the real tree thing. It got too expensive and with our wood stove, it dried out too quickly. I love where your tree is placed. It looks awesome!
I love your tree. It is just gorgeous! I don't have a themed tree either. I like my trees to have a history ;o)
I absolutely adore your tree! I especially like the way you hung the gold bead garlands and the addition of the feathers at the top. Very clever! So now, I have to follow you so I can see all the other clever things you do...
;-)

One of the most beautiful trees I have seen! I am with you on the "real vs fake". I like keeping the lights on all the time, so its fake for me!
This is oh so gorgeous!!
You tree is gorgeous! I also love your tree skirt -- it's wonderful!
Beautiful! I love the "put together over time" look. I am a traditional gal. :) I love your tree topper and the skirt. Very pretty!
Beautiful! My tree is the same way . . . ornaments gathered over time with all the memories stuck to the sides of them. :)
You tree is spectacular! While I would love to have a real tree, we also have a faux one. The benefits outway a real one.
Gwenny~

Your tree is just gorgeous as is your living room. Such a perfect spot for your tree, in the bay window. Love your blog, BTW...
Wow, your tree and your home are both just gorgeous! Your living room looks like something out of a magazine, truly.
We have a faux tree too and we have all kinds of different ornaments from vintage to bought last week. It's full of whatever strikes my fancy and things my kids make, etc.
Merry Christmas!
We just bought a prelit one and I love it, like you I can put it up whenever I want. I always had a traditional decorated tree but this year I wanted something different, yours is beautiful!

Your tree is gorgeous!
Your tree is absolutely beautiful! I love how it came out with all your beautiful special ornaments- I am a faux tree lover too! Thanks for sharing at Feathered Nest Friday this week!
Stunning and your photo looks like a page out of Better Homes and Gardens! I love the bay window and how you've covered it. I have that same window in my living room and I'm always at a loss of how to decorate it. Thanks for the inspiration and I've signed on to Follow.
Your tree is just beautiful. I found your blog through the link up party at Dittle Dattle and I have to agree with her that it looks like a picture out of a magazine! My tree ornaments are very much the same as you; ornaments collected over the years and that have memories or meaning to our family. I do buy some ball ornaments as fill in, but the ones I look at when I look over our tree are those that are special to me.
Your tree is beautiful. And that tree skirt is fantastic. I love the scallops!!
Still LOVIN it! Your comments have been crackin me up! You are too cute! Thank you for linkin up! When you get a sec, Grab that Whassup Wednesday button for your page so we can have more Linky buddies :)
