Orchids

I have not had great success keeping orchids in bloom in my last home, mostly because they didn't get enough light. Here, in the sunny and warm sunroom, I think I'll have a lot more success.

I adore Orchids, who bring such elegance and beauty to a room! Any tips for keeping these in bloom for as long as possible??

Have a wonderful day!  We have a preschool Halloween party, followed by some pumpkin carving fun!

I'm the same...I ADORE them but go through them WAY too quickly. I still haven't figured them out entirely. I did recently buy an expensive one ($100) and was told it would live alot longer, which it did. I think it was in bloom for about 3-4 months. I'm going to try my hardest to bring it back- lots of sun and only 1/4 of water each week.

I love orchids too! They are so elegant looking. I have never had a live one before. I'm too chicken I guess. I only have fake ones. I hope yours will do well. There is probably alot of good advice on the internet about them.

I love orchids too! I never buy them b/c I'm terrible at keeping things alive. My dad used to buy me an orchid corsage every year for our annual church Christmas banquet. Maybe that's why I'm so fond of them. Hope you have a fun weekend!

They need indirect sunlight, not direct, as well, only give them 3-4 ice cubes a week for water, too much hydration will cause the blooms to fall off. I just plop a few cubes on them every Sunday. HTH!! :)

Those are so pretty. I haven't had an orchid in ages.

These are so beautiful...wishing you great success...I water mine once a week and let them fully drain before placing them back into their decorative containers...sometimes they last for months...my record is 10! and sometimes they start to fall off after just a couple of weeks...a bit of a mystery but so worth taking the chance...overall a far better value than cut flowers...enjoy!
